A story from the tribe

«After the pandemic, I set out to race against myself»

After months without being able to get out and train, Paco signed up for three challenges: Hades, Poseidon and Zeus. In two of them he wore bib number 001.

Paco, in his club shirt with the Hades, Poseidon and Zeus medals round his neck, gives a thumbs up.

María: Paco sent me his story with photos of his medals and certificates. I've tidied it up a little; the words are his.

How I started

It all began after the pandemic. We'd spent so long unable to go out and train that I was itching to get going again and get back in shape.

So, honestly, starting wasn't that hard.

Racing against myself

I took it on as a personal challenge: to race against myself and keep getting better.

I got myself going and got down to work until I'd finished three challenges: Hades, 50 km; Poseidon, 100 km; and Zeus, 150 km. Together they add up to 300 kilometres.

The finish line

For me it was a wonderful experience. I'd encourage everyone to give it a go.
